Defect

In the diesel engine, engine control during deceleration is incorrect, causing in-cylinder pressure to drop and reducing the closing force on the intake valves. Soot may become lodged between the intake valves and their seats, causing poor compression and unstable engine operation. In the worst case, the engine may stall.

Corrective action

On all vehicles, reprogram the control software with the corrected software.

状況

③ディーゼルエンジンにおいて、減速時のエンジン制御が不適切なため、気筒内圧力が低下し、吸気バルブの閉じ力が低くなることがある。そのため、吸気バルブとバルブシート間に煤が挟まり圧縮不良となって、エンジン回転が不安定になるほか、最悪の場合、エンストに至るおそれがある。

改善措置

全車両、制御プログラムを対策プログラムに修正する。
