Defect
Improper heat treatment of the valve springs used on the intake and exhaust valves of the engine caused fine cracks (hair cracks) to form during the manufacturing process. Continued use in this condition may cause the valve spring to fracture, resulting in rough engine operation and abnormal noise. In the worst case, the piston may be damaged and the engine may stall.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the valve springs with non-defective units.

状況
エンジンの吸気バルブ及び排気バルブに使用されているバルブスプリングの熱処理が不 適切なため、加工工程で微細な亀裂（ヘアクラック）が発生したものがあり、このままの 状態で使用を続けると当該バルブスプリングが折損してエンジン不調や異音が発生し、最 悪の場合、ピストンが破損して、エンジンが停止するおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、バルブスプリングを良品と交換する。
