Defect
On cameras used to monitor the immediate front and left-side surroundings of the vehicle, the lens surface coating is improperly formulated. Acids present in cleaning agents or rainwater erode the coating, and continued use allows the erosion to penetrate the lens itself, causing it to turn white and degrade the side camera image progressively. In the worst case, the driver may be unable to confirm the conditions directly in front of or to the left of the vehicle.
Corrective action
Notify all users of this defect. If lens clouding is present, replace the side camera with a corrected part.

状況
車両の直前および直左の周辺状況を確認するカメラにおいて、レンズ表面のコーティングが不適切なものがある。そのため、洗浄剤や雨水などに含まれる酸でコーティング剤が浸食され、そのまま使用を続けると、レンズ本体も浸食して白濁化し、サイドカメラの映像が徐々に鮮明に映らなくなり、最悪の場合、車両の直前および直左の周辺状況を確認できなくなるおそれがある。
改善措置
全使用者へ当該不具合について周知し、レンズの白濁が発生している場合には、サイドカメラを対策品に交換する。
