Defect
On the driver's seat, the seat height adjuster lifter link has insufficient strength, and the push nut used to retain the lifter link is improperly secured. As a result, the lifter link may develop a crack, or the push nut may disengage. Continued use causes abnormal noise and play in the seat, and in the worst case, the lifter link may fracture or separate, causing the seat to tilt and preventing the driver from maintaining a proper driving position.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, inspect the lifter link. If no crack is present, add a reinforcement bracket to the lifter link and replace the push nut with a double-nut configuration. If a crack is found, replace the seat adjuster unit with the corrected part. Note: because preparation of the reinforcement bracket requires time, the remedy will be implemented progressively, beginning with older model year vehicles.

状況
運転者席において、座席高さを調整するリフタリンクの強度が不足しているほか、リフタリンクの抜け止め防止用プッシュナットの固定方法が不適切なため、リフタリンクに亀裂が入る、または、プッシュナットが外れることがある。そのため、そのまま使用を続けると、座席から異音やガタが発生し、最悪の場合、リフタリンクが破損もしくは外れて座席が傾き、正しい運転姿勢が取れなくなるおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、リフタリンクを点検し、亀裂が無い場合はリフタリンクに補強ブラケットを追加するとともに、プッシュナットを2枚構造にする。リフタリンクに亀裂がある場合は、シートアジャスターユニットを対策品に交換する。なお、補強ブラケットの準備に時間を要するため、年式の古い車両から順次改善措置を実施する。
