Defect
On vehicles equipped with a wheelchair boarding ramp, the attachment structure for the band that secures the folded rear seat is improperly designed. The band may detach from its mounting point, allowing the rear seat to fall forward. In the worst case, the falling seat may strike a wheelchair user's knees or hands, causing injury.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, the rear seat securing band mounting is replaced with a corrected part that changes the attachment method from rivet fastening to a bolt-and-bracket structure.
