Defect

In the passenger-side airbag inflator, the propellant may degrade when exposed to prolonged temperature cycling under humid conditions. If this degradation occurs, the inflator housing may rupture during airbag deployment, scattering fragments and injuring vehicle occupants.

Corrective action

On all vehicles, the affected inflator is replaced with a corrected/revised part.

状況

助手席側エアバッグのインフレータ(ガス発生装置)において、ガス発生剤が湿気のある状態で長期間の温度変化にさらされると劣化することがある。このため、エアバッグ展開時にインフレータ容器が破損して構成部品が飛散し、乗員が負傷するおそれがある。

改善措置

全車両、当該インフレータを対策品と交換する。
