Defect
The cam profile on the water pump engine of water-spraying vehicles is inadequate. When the throttle is rapidly opened from near-stall to maximum speed, the engine may rotate in reverse. This causes exhaust gases to be expelled into the intake side, which may burn and damage the air cleaner element and air cleaner cover.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the water pump engine cam with a corrected part.

状況
散水車の水ポンプ用エンジンにおいて、カムの形状が不適切なため、エンジンを停止寸前の状態からアクセルを急激に最高回転状態まで作動させた際に、エンジンが逆回転することがある。そのため、排気ガスが吸気側へ吐き出され、エアクリーナ内のエレメント、エアクリーナカバーを燃損するおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、水ポンプ用エンジンのカムを対策品に交換する。
