Defect
On tractors hauling flatbed semi-trailers with tipping beds, the steel hydraulic fittings installed to operate the tipping bed have insufficient strength to withstand driving vibration. Under certain operating conditions, cracks form in the steel fittings, causing hydraulic fluid to leak. The leaking fluid drips onto the exhaust aftertreatment device mounted directly below the hydraulic fluid tank, creating a risk of vehicle fire.
Corrective action
On all vehicles: (1) Replace the steel fitting connecting the hydraulic pump suction line to the hydraulic fluid tank with a rubber hose to improve vibration tolerance. (2) For the same reason, replace the steel fitting connecting the hydraulic pump high-pressure line to the control valve with a rubber hose. (3) Change the hydraulic fluid tank mounting method from single-end support to double-end support to provide more secure fixation. (4) Replace the current off-the-shelf hydraulic fluid tank with a corrected hydraulic fluid tank to accommodate the fitting changes made in step (1).

状況
傾斜荷台付平床セミトレーラをけん引するトラクタにおいて、傾斜荷台を作動させるために架装されている油圧装置の鋼製継手部の走行時の振動に対する強度が不十分であるため、使用状況下により当該継手部に亀裂が生じ、亀裂部から作動油が漏れ、漏れた作動油が当該作動油タンクの直下に装着されている排気ガス浄化装置等に滴下し、火災に至るおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両に対し、 ①油圧ポンプ吸入配管と作動油タンクをつなぐ鋼製継手部をゴムホースに変更し、振動に対する許容性を高める。 ②油圧ポンプ高圧配管とコントロールバルブをつなぐ鋼製継手部に対しても、①と同様の理由からゴムホースに変更する。 ③作動油タンクの固定がより強固になるよう、固定方法を片持支持から両端支持に変更する。 ④①の鋼製継手部変更に対応するため、現状の市販品作動油タンクを対策品作動油タンクに変更する。
