This filing is one of 56 Mitsubishi notifications from 2014 in this archive. Defect
The manufacturing instructions for the idler pulley bearing on the fan belt drive of large buses are inadequate, allowing the bearing to be deformed during assembly. Continued operation in this condition causes abnormal noise and seizure in the bearing. In the worst case, the fan belt breaks and the engine overheats.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the idler pulley and pulley bracket assembly with corrected parts.
