Defect
On certain heavy-duty trucks and buses, an alternator with insufficient output capacity was incorrectly installed during assembly. The undersized alternator fails to maintain adequate battery charge, causing battery voltage to drop. This may prevent gear shifting and result in a breakdown on the road.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, inspect the alternator and replace it with the correct specified unit if an incorrect part is found. Additionally, inspect the battery specific gravity and, if the battery is found to be significantly discharged, perform a supplemental charge.

状況
大型トラック・バスにおいて、出力が小さいオルタネーターを誤装着したものがある。そのため、オルタネーターの発電不足によってバッテリー電圧が低下して変速ができなくなり、路上故障に至るおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、オルタネーターを点検し、誤品が装着されていた場合は正規品に交換する。また、バッテリーの比重を点検し、放電が進んでいた場合は、補充電を行う。
