Defect
In the Keyless Operation System control unit (KOS ECU*1), a manufacturing defect in the internal reset IC*2 causes the reset IC to malfunction at extremely low temperatures, stopping the KOS ECU microcomputer. As a result, the engine may fail to start, the doors and tailgate may not lock or unlock, and the steering lock may not engage or release. *1 KOS ECU: A control unit that recognizes the keyless operation key and manages engine starting, door and tailgate locking/unlocking, and steering lock engagement/release. *2 Reset IC: An IC that resets the microcomputer to prevent malfunctions such as runaway processing.
Corrective action
Replace the KOS ECU with a conforming unit on all vehicles.

状況
