Defect
On the driver- and front passenger-side seat belts of light trucks and large buses, an improper manufacturing process for the lock mechanism inside the retractor allows the press-fit joint to loosen. This loosening may cause abnormal noise or binding when fastening or unfastening the seat belt. Continued use can result in the press-fit component separating entirely, causing the seat belt to fail to lock during a collision.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, inspect the seat belt. If the press-fit joint is not loose, install an anti-loosening part inside the retractor. If the press-fit joint is loose, replace the seat belt assembly with a conforming unit.

状況
小型トラックと大型バスの運転席または助手席用シートベルトにおいて、巻取装置内部のロック機構部の製造方法が不適切なため、圧入部が緩み、シートベルト脱着時に異音や引っ掛かりが発生するおそれがある。そのまま使用を続けると、最悪の場合、圧入部品が外れ、衝突時にシートベルトのロックが作動しなくなる。
改善措置
全車両、当該シートベルトを点検し、圧入部が緩んでいないものは、当該巻取装置の内部に緩み対策部品を取り付ける。圧入部が緩んでいるものは、当該シートベルトを良品に交換する。
