Defect
The retaining clip for the engine air intake duct may crack if excessive force is applied when pressing the clip inward during removal. Continued use of a cracked clip allows the crack to propagate until the clip fails and the air intake duct detaches. In the worst case, the duct may fall onto the exhaust manifold, causing melting or ignition.
Corrective action
Replace the air intake duct retaining clips on all vehicles with corrected parts, and affix a caution label to the air intake duct indicating that the clips must not be reused.

状況
原動機のエアインテークダクトの固定用クリップにおいて、クリップ取外しのため一旦押し込む際、必要以上の力で押し込むことでクリップに亀裂が発生する場合がある。そのままクリップを再使用すると亀裂が進行し、使用過程でクリップが破損してエアインテークダクトが外れ、最悪の場合、エキゾーストマニホールド上に落下して、溶損や発火に至るおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、エアインテークダクトの固定用クリップを対策品に交換し、エアインテークダクトにクリップの再使用不可を記載したコーションラベルを貼付する。
