Defect
On four-wheel-drive vehicles, the power supply circuit of the signal converter installed when an aftermarket speed limiter is retrofitted to the transfer case control unit is improperly designed on some units. Each time the ignition switch is operated, a momentary overcurrent flows into the transfer case control unit. Repeated exposure to this overcurrent damages the internal circuitry, and the transfer case, speed limiter, and speedometer may become inoperative.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, the signal converter power supply circuit and the transfer case control unit are replaced with corrected parts.

状況
4輪駆動車の副変速機用電子制御装置において、速度抑制装置(スピードリミッター)を後付けした際の信号変換器の電源供給回路が不適切なものがある。 そのため、キースイッチ操作時に副変速機用電子制御装置に瞬間的な過電流が流れ、その繰返しによって内部回路が損傷し、副変速機、速度抑制装置及び速度計が不作動となるおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、信号変換器の電源供給回路及び副変速機用電子制御装置を対策品に交換する。
