Defect
On certain light trucks and buses, the rubber cushion used to secure the fuel return hose to the engine body was improperly manufactured. Phthalates leaching from the rubber cause the fuel return hose connection to loosen and the hose to separate from the orifice fitting, resulting in a fuel leak. In the worst case, this may lead to a vehicle fire.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, add a clamp to the fuel return hose connection point.

状況
小型トラック・バスにおいて、戻り側燃料ホースをエンジン本体に固定する緩衝用ゴムの製造が不適切なため、ゴムから溶出した物質(フタレート)による影響で燃料ホースがゆるみ、燃料ホースが接続先(オリフィス)から外れて燃料が漏れ、最悪の場合、火災に至るおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、戻り側燃料ホースの接続部にクランプを追加する。
