Defect
The tip-over engine stop sensor uses an inadequate vibration-damping structure, causing the sensor to resonate at specific engine speeds. This resonance may shift the internal tilt-detection pendulum to the fall-detection position. As a result, the sensor may falsely detect a tip-over and abruptly stop the engine while the vehicle is in motion.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the sensor with the corrected part.
