Defect
A manufacturing defect in the back door latch results in incorrect dimensions on the latch's resin body, preventing the locking mechanism from engaging. As a result, the back door may not close securely. In the worst case, the door may open while the vehicle is in motion, causing cargo to fall from the vehicle.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, inspect the back door latch. If the resin body dimensions are out of specification, replace the complete back door latch assembly with a conforming unit.

状況
バックドアにおいて、バックドアラッチの製造不良により当該ドアラッチの樹脂ボディの寸法が不適切なものがあり、ロック機構が作動しないため、ドアが確実に閉まらない場合がある。そのため、最悪の場合、走行中にドアが開き、積載物が落下するおそれがある。
改善措置
全車輌、バックドアラッチを点検し、樹脂ボディの寸法が不適切なものは、バックドアラッチ一式を良品と交換する。
