Defect
On 3-speed automatic transmission vehicles used frequently at high speed in commercial applications, operating the vehicle with insufficient engine oil causes connecting rod bearing seizure, resulting in abnormal noise. If high-speed driving continues in this condition, the engine may sustain damage and the vehicle may become inoperable.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, adjust the activation threshold of the engine oil pressure warning system and add a control function that limits engine speed when the warning lamp illuminates. As an interim measure pending preparation of the corrected parts, notify operators to perform daily inspections of engine oil level and condition.

状況
高速での使用頻度が高い業務用途等の３速オートマチック車において、エンジンオイルが不足している状態で走行するとコンロッドメタルが焼き付き、異音が発生する場合がある。そのため、そのまま高速走行を続けるとエンジンが破損し、走行不能になるおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、エンジンの油圧警告装置の作動設定値を変更するとともに、警告灯が点灯した際にエンジン回転数を制限する制御を追加する。なお、対策品の準備に時間を要するため、暫定措置として、使用者へ当該オイル量などの日常点検を注意喚起する。
