Defect
The brake booster was not designed to account for sustained high-temperature operating conditions. Under such conditions, the rubber diaphragm inside the booster degrades from heat, developing cracks that impair the boosting function. As a result, braking stopping distance increases.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the brake booster with a new unit and add the replacement part and replacement interval to the inspection and maintenance section of the maintenance record. In addition, attach a periodic-replacement information label to the body panel near the brake booster in the engine compartment.

状況
制動倍力装置において、高温が続く使用条件を想定していなかったため、当該使用条件下で継続的に使用された場合、制動倍力装置内のゴム膜が熱により劣化するものがある。そのため、そのまま使用を続けると、当該ゴム膜に亀裂が発生し、倍力作用が損なわれて制動停止距離が伸びるおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、制動倍力装置を新品と交換するとともに、メンテナンスノートの点検整備項目に交換部品・交換時期を追記する。また、定期交換のインフォメーションラベルを原動機室内の制動倍力装置付近のボデーパネルに貼付する。
