Defect
The left rear brake pipe was manufactured with an incorrect shape, causing deformation during installation that leaves insufficient clearance between the pipe and the shock absorber. During driving, contact between the brake pipe and the shock absorber damages the pipe. In the worst case, brake fluid leaks and braking force is reduced.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, inspect the clearance between the left rear brake pipe and the shock absorber. On any vehicle where the clearance is at or below the specified value, replace the brake pipe with the corrected part.
