Defect
The mounting location of the power transistor connector — which controls blower fan airflow — and the surface treatment of the connector terminals are inappropriate. When an occupant's foot or other external force is applied to the connector, the contact points shift, increasing contact resistance and generating elevated heat. Repeated occurrences cause the connector to melt. In the worst case, the blower fan malfunctions and the defroster becomes inoperative.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the power transistor and connector assembly with the corrected parts.

状況
ブロアファン風量を制御するパワートランジスタのコネクター設置場所およびコネクター端子の表面処理が不適切なため、コネクターに乗員の足等による外力が加わると、コネクターの接点部がずれ、接触抵抗が増大することにより発熱温度が高くなることがある。そのため、その繰り返しによりコネクターが溶損し、最悪の場合、ブロアファンが作動不良となり、デフロスタが効かなくなるおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、パワートランジスタ及びコネクター一式を対策品と交換する。
