Defect
The knuckle arm has insufficient strength in the steering link mechanism. Frequent long-term use under high steering-load conditions—such as stationary steering—can cause cracks to develop in the knuckle arm. Continued use in this condition may result in knuckle arm breakage and complete loss of steering control.
Corrective action
On all affected vehicles, replace the knuckle arm with the corrected part. Note: This recall supersedes recall No. 394 (issued March 12, 1992), which had an insufficient corrective measure and excluded certain affected vehicles. This action revises the remedy and expands the scope accordingly.

状況
②かじ取り装置において、ナックルアームの強度が不足しているため、据え切り等操舵力 の高くなる使用を頻繁に長期間続けると、ナックルアームに亀裂が発生するものがある 。そのため、そのままの状態で使用を続けると、最悪の場合、ナックルアームが破損し て操舵ができなくなるおそれがある。 (備考) 本届出は、平成4年3月12日付け「届出番号394」のリコール届出において、不具合 に対する改善措置の内容が不十分であったため、改善措置の内容を見直すとともに、一部 対象車両に漏れがあったため、再度対策を行うものである。
改善措置
②対象の全車両、当該ナックルアームを対策品と交換する。
