Defect
On four-wheel-drive vehicles, the bearing press-fit section of the front wheel knuckle is improperly designed, allowing mud and water to accumulate in that area. The accumulated mud and water causes the oil seal to wear and degrade, permitting mud and water to enter the bearing. Grease inside the bearing is then expelled, producing abnormal noise. Continued operation under these conditions can lead to bearing damage and, in the worst case, render the vehicle inoperable.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the knuckle with a corrected part (supplied with bearing). Because delivery of the corrected part will take time, as an interim measure, inspect the bearing for wear on all vehicles; any bearing found to be abnormal must be replaced with a new unit.

状況
①四輪駆動車の走行装置において、前輪ナックルのベアリング圧入部の構造が不適切なた め、当該ベアリング圧入部に溜まった泥水により、オイルシールが摩耗して性能が低下し 、ベアリングに泥水が侵入するものがある。そのため、ベアリング内部のグリスが流出し て異音が発生し、そのままの状態で使用を続けると、最悪の場合、当該ベアリングが破損 し、走行不能に至るおそれがある。
改善措置
①全車両、ナックルを対策品（ベアリング付き）と交換する。なお、対策品の供給に時間 を要すことから、当面の暫定措置として、全車両、ベアリングの摩耗を点検し、異常が認 められるものは、ベアリングを新品と交換する。
