Defect

Improper assembly of the engine oil cooler hose leaves insufficient clearance between the hose and the tow hook. Engine movement during hard acceleration causes the hose to contact the tow hook. Continued operation in this condition damages the hose, resulting in an engine oil leak and, in the worst case, engine seizure.

Corrective action

On all vehicles, inspect the engine oil cooler hose. If the clearance between the tow hook and the hose is insufficient, or if the hose shows signs of contact wear, replace the engine oil cooler hose and splash shield with corrected parts.

状況

エンジンオイルクーラーホースの組付作業が不適切なため、当該ホースとけん引フックと の隙間が不十分なものがある。そのため、急発進等のエンジンの挙動により、当該ホース とけん引フックが干渉し、そのままの状態で使用を続けると、当該ホースが損傷し、エン ジンオイルが漏れ、最悪の場合、エンジンが焼きつくおそれがある。

改善措置

全車両、エンジンオイルクーラーホースを点検し、牽引フックとエンジンオイルクーラー ホースの隙間が不十分なもの、および当該ホースに干渉痕のあるものは、エンジンオイル クーラーホースとスプラッシュシールドを対策品と交換する。
