Defect
Incorrect assembly instructions for the distributor gasket resulted in some units being fitted with an incorrect gasket that lacks a ventilation port. Continued use in this condition allows nitric acid to form inside the distributor, causing internal corrosion that reduces insulation resistance. In the worst case, ignition failure may cause the engine to stall while driving.
Corrective action
Inspect the distributor on all vehicles. If a gasket without a ventilation port is installed, replace the distributor with a conforming unit.

状況
ディストリビュータのパッキンの組付け指示が不適切なため、換気孔のない誤ったパッ キンが装着されたものがある。そのため、そのままの状態で使用を続けると、ディストリ ビュータ内部に硝酸が生成され、内部が腐蝕することにより絶縁抵抗が低下し、最悪の場 合、点火異常で走行中エンストするおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、ディストリビュータを点検し、換気孔のないパッキンが装着されているものは、 ディストリビュータを良品と交換する。
