Defect
In the electrical system of vehicles equipped with a V8 engine, the relay terminals for the low-pressure fuel pump drive circuit inside the relay box are made of an inadequate material. Heat buildup in the engine compartment combined with heat generated during pump operation causes the relay terminals to deform plastically, resulting in poor electrical conductivity. In the worst case, the fuel pump may stop operating, causing the engine to stall and be unable to restart.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the relay box with a kit incorporating corrected terminals made of an improved heat-resistant material.

状況
電気装置において、V型8気筒エンジン搭載車でリレーボックス内にある低圧燃料ポン プ駆動回路用リレー端子の材質が不適切なため、エンジンルーム内の温度上昇及び当該ポ ンプの駆動時の発熱により、当該リレー端子が塑性変形して導通不良に至り、最悪の場合 、当該ポンプが作動しなくなり、エンストし再始動ができなくなるおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、耐熱性向上材質に変更した対策品端子を組み込んだリレーボックスキットと交 換する。
