Defect
In the variable-nozzle turbocharger on the engine, the variable nozzle link retaining pin has insufficient wear resistance, causing it to wear. Combined with poor response in the variable nozzle control solenoid valve, the nozzle position shifts, increasing exhaust gas flow velocity and causing the turbine to over-speed. Continued use damages turbine blades, producing abnormal noise and reduced power output. In the worst case, insufficient airflow into the engine causes black smoke emissions to exceed the specified limit.
Corrective action
1. On all vehicles, inspect the boost pressure. On vehicles within the specified range, replace the variable nozzle link assembly with a corrected part. On vehicles exceeding the specified range, replace the turbocharger assembly with a corrected part. 2. Replace the nozzle control solenoid valve with a corrected part featuring improved response.

状況
原動機の可変ノズル付過給機において、可変ノズルリンク固定ピンの耐摩耗性が不適切な ため当該ピンが摩耗し、かつ可変ノズル制御用電磁弁の応答性が悪いため可変ノズル位置 が変化し，排出ガス流速が増大することでタービンが過回転となり、そのままの状態で使 用をつづけると、タービン翼の一部が損傷して異音及び出力不足が発生し、最悪の場合、 原動機への流入空気量が不足し黒煙が基準値を超えるおそれがある。
改善措置
①全車両過給圧を点検し、規格値内のものは可変ノズルリンクＡＳＳＹを対策品に、また 、規格値を超えているものについては過給機ＡＳＳＹを対策品に交換する。 ②ノズル制御用電磁弁を対策品（応答性改善品）に交換する。
