Defect
On low-floor rear two-axle drive vehicles, the propeller shaft joint between the rear-front axle and rear-rear axle was improperly assembled. This causes wear at the companion flange mounting point on the rear-rear axle final reduction gear, allowing the castle nut securing the flange to loosen. Continued use causes the cotter pin that locks the castle nut to fracture, allowing the nut to fall out and the companion flange to disengage. In the worst case, the propeller shaft detaches and the vehicle becomes inoperable. Note: Applies to vehicles equipped with final reduction ratios of 2.785 and 2.923.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the companion flange and castle nut with corrected parts.

状況
低床式後２軸駆動車の動力伝達装置において、後前軸と後後軸間の推進軸の接手の締付け が不適切なため、後後軸の終減速機との取付部（コンパニオンフランジ）が摩耗し、当該 フランジを締付けているキャッスルナットがゆるみ、そのままの状態で使用をつづけると 、キャッスルナットの回り止めの割ピンが折損して当該ナットが脱落、コンパニオンフラ ンジが抜け出し、最悪の場合、当該推進軸が脱落して走行不能となるおそれがある。 備考：終減速比 2.785 2.923 搭載車
改善措置
全車両コンパニオンフランジ及びキャッスルナットを対策品に交換する。
