Issue
In the power transmission system, the spring retaining position on the rod that locks the automatic transmission parking mechanism gear is improperly set on some vehicles. As a result, shifting to the Park position may rarely fail to engage the parking mechanism. In the worst case, the vehicle may roll away. Note: if the parking brake is applied simultaneously, vehicle movement will not occur.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the rod with a new part.
