Defect
On vehicles equipped with the all-around safety driving support system, an incorrect control program in the driver monitor camera control computer may cause computational processing to fail to terminate after a software update or fault code clear is performed via an external diagnostic tool. As a result, excessive standby current continues to flow, and if the vehicle is parked for an extended period without use, the battery may discharge and the power system may fail to start. Additionally, following a software update via an external diagnostic tool, the driver monitor camera may not activate when the power system is started, and brake warning lights and other indicators may fail to illuminate during a system fault, causing the vehicle to not conform to the Safety Standards.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, reprogram the driver monitor camera control computer with the corrected software.
