Defect
On vehicles not equipped with an automatic headlight leveling system, an unused wiring connector is improperly waterproofed, allowing water containing road salt and other contaminants to contact the connector terminals and cause current to flow. This transmits an erroneous signal to the odometer, which may then fail to accumulate mileage correctly.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, the affected wiring connector is cut and waterproofed.

状況
自動式前照灯照射方向調節装置なし車において、未使用の電気配線コネクタの防水処理が不適切なため、当該コネクタの端子部に融雪剤を含んだ水等が付着して電流が流れることがある。そのため、走行距離計に誤った信号が伝達され、走行距離を正しく積算しないおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、当該電気配線のコネクタ部を切断し、防水処理する。
