Defect

On motorcycles equipped with an integrated front and rear brake system, the hydraulic retention seal lip inside the Proportional Control Valve (PCV) is machined to incorrect dimensions. The seal lip tip collapses under load, reducing the seal's ability to maintain hydraulic pressure. As a result, brake fluid may leak and the rear brake may lose effectiveness.

Corrective action

On all vehicles, inspect the PCV for hydraulic retention. Any PCV that cannot maintain hydraulic pressure must be replaced with a conforming unit.

状況

前後輪のブレーキが連動して作動する機能が付いた二輪車において、前後制動力配分をコントロールするプロポーショナルコントロールバルブ(PCV)内のブレーキ液圧保持シールのリップ加工寸法が不適切なため、リップの先端が潰れて液圧保持のシール機能が低下するものがある。そのため、ブレーキ液が漏れて後輪ブレーキが効かなくなるおそれがある。

改善措置

全車両、PCVの液圧保持状態を点検し、液圧が保持できないものはPCVを良品と交換する。
