Defect

The check valve selection for the hydraulic circuit of the work equipment on street sweeper vehicles was insufficient, allowing heat from the work engine and related components to raise pressure inside the hydraulic lines. The elevated pressure prevents the work equipment check valve from opening, which means the cleaning equipment (left and right brushes) cannot be retracted after the work equipment is stopped, creating a hazard to other traffic. Additionally, repeated exposure to high hydraulic pressure may damage the hydraulic hose.

Corrective action

On all vehicles, replace the work equipment check valve with a corrected part. Also replace the hydraulic hose with a new unit and install a hydraulic hose heat shield.
