Filing in context
The Wiring is the most frequently cited component category in this archive, appearing in 236 of its 4,890 filings. This filing is one of 24 Isuzu notifications from 2025 in this archive. For scale, 4,495 of the 4,890 filings in this archive report a larger number of affected vehicles; the vehicles involved here were manufactured over a span of about 2 months.
Defect
On battery electric vehicles, insufficient design consideration of the refrigeration unit power wiring resulted in the wiring being fixed in a bent state, placing stress on the wiring connector. This stress creates a gap in the internal waterproof seal, allowing water to enter the connector and cause a short circuit in the power wiring. The short circuit triggers a warning and activates the vehicle's protection function, bringing the vehicle to a complete stop. Once fully stopped, the vehicle cannot be restarted and becomes inoperable.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, remove the affected wiring connector and rewire using a corrected wiring harness with round-terminal connections. As an interim measure, pending production of the corrected part, the existing wiring connector will be converted from a coupler connection to a round-terminal connection.
