Defect
When a front or rear turn signal fails, the turn signal indicator in the driver's compartment does not activate, leaving the driver without a malfunction warning.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, perform the following measures according to the type of rear-mounted auxiliary turn signal installed: (1) For auxiliary incandescent turn signals — reroute the wiring and replace the flasher relay unit with one having the appropriate threshold value. (2) For auxiliary LED turn signals — install a detector and indicator lamp in the driver's compartment to monitor turn signal operation.
