Defect
The control software in the telematics control unit of the automatic emergency call system is incorrect. When a call connection is interrupted due to loss of network coverage, the system does not automatically reconnect once coverage is restored. This condition causes the vehicle to fail to conform to Safety Standards.
Corrective action
Reprogram the telematics control unit with the corrected/updated software on all vehicles.
