Overview
| MLIT filing number | 1152820 |
|---|---|
| Type | Statutory Recall (government-mandated recall) |
| Date filed | February 16, 2023 |
| Manufacturer(s) | Toyota |
| Component | Exhaust pipe |
| Production period | September 2017 — December 10, 2020 |
| Vehicles affected | 23,586 units |
Defect
The exhaust manifold pipe section has insufficient strength. Repeated driving under high load and at specific engine speeds—such as on uphill grades where pipe surface temperatures rise excessively—may cause a crack to develop. Continued use may result in exhaust emissions that no longer meet the specified regulatory standards.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the exhaust manifold and exhaust pipe with corrected parts.
