Defect
On vehicles equipped with an idling stop Smart Simple hybrid system, the internal bearing seal specification in the ECO motor is inadequate, resulting in insufficient sealing performance. If contaminants enter the bearing, the bearing may sustain damage and produce abnormal noise. Continued operation in this condition may cause the ECO motor to fail and the engine to stall.
Corrective action
Replace the ECO motor on all vehicles with a corrected part. Owners will be notified separately and scheduled for replacement as corrected parts become available.

状況
アイドリングストップ付スマートシンプルハイブリッド仕様車のECOモータにおいて、内部ベアリングのシール仕様が不適切なため、シール性能が不足し異物が侵入するとベアリングが破損し異音が発生することがある。そのまま継続して使用した場合、ECOモータが故障しエンジンが停止するおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、ECOモータを対策品に交換する。 なお、部品準備ができしだい改めて順次案内し対策品に交換する。
