Defect
During the manufacturing process, internal stress was introduced into the diodes of the generator's rectifier circuit. This stress accelerates thermal degradation of the diodes, causing them to fail and allowing excessive current to flow through the rectifier circuit. The resulting overheating melts and scorches the resin components, producing smoke and, in the worst case, causing a vehicle fire.
Corrective action
Replace the generator on all vehicles with a known-good unit.

状況
発電機の製造過程において、当該発電機の整流回路のダイオード内部に歪を生じたもの があるため、当該ダイオードの熱劣化が促進されて損傷し、整流回路に過大な電流が流れ ることにより発熱して樹脂部分が溶損、発煙し、最悪の場合、火災に至るおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、当該発電機を良品と交換する。
