Defect
On aluminum tank lorries, the cargo discharge pump bracket was designed with insufficient strength. This allows cracks to develop in the piping connected to the pump. Continued operation in this condition may cause cargo to leak during unloading operations. If an ignition source is present nearby, the leaked cargo may ignite and cause a vehicle fire. Separately, the insufficient bracket rigidity may also cause cracks to develop in the center bearing bracket that connects the pump drive shafts, rendering unloading operations impossible.
Corrective action
(1) On all vehicles, add reinforcement to the pump bracket and the center bearing bracket. Where the specification requires an additional pipe securing stay, install that stay. (2) On all vehicles, inspect all piping for cracks. If cracks are found, perform repair work or replace the affected piping with new parts.

状況
アルミタンクローリの積荷排出用ポンプにおいて、設計不良により、ポンプブラケットの剛性が不足しているため、ポンプと連結した配管に亀裂が発生するものがある。そのため、そのままの状態で使用し続けると、荷下ろし作業中に積載物が漏れ、最悪周囲に火種があった場合に発火して火災になるおそれがある。 また、ポンプブラケットの剛性が不足しているため、ポンプ駆動軸同士を連結するセンタベアリングのブラケットに亀裂が発生し、荷下ろし作業ができなくなるおそれがある。
改善措置
(1)全車両、ポンプブラケットおよびセンタベアリングブラケットへ補強を追加する。また、配管固縛ステーの追加が必要な仕様においては、当該ステーを追加する。 (2)全車両、配管の亀裂有無を確認し、亀裂が確認された場合は補修工事を実施、もしくは配管を新品に交換する。
