Defect
On e-POWER vehicles, the vehicle control module software is incorrect. Under specific road and driving conditions, when the generator engine is commanded to start, the system may incorrectly detect a fuel-out condition even though fuel remains in the tank. This triggers a fail-safe control that cuts power output, and the vehicle may become inoperable.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, reprogram the vehicle control module with the corrected software.

状況
e-POWER車のビークルコントロールモジュールにおいて、制御プログラムが不適切なため、特定の道路、かつ走行条件において発電用エンジンを始動する際、燃料が残っていても燃料切れと判定することがある。そのため、出力をとめるフェールセーフ制御が作動し走行不能となるおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、ビークルコントロールモジュールの制御プログラムを対策品に書き換える。
