Defect
Internal components of the auxiliary power module are improperly welded, causing cracks to form inside the affected elements. Repeated electrical cycling damages the elements, which may cause the idling stop system OFF indicator to flash and the idling stop function to deactivate, or may cause the engine to stall.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the auxiliary power module with a conforming unit.
