Filing in context
This is the only filing in the archive that cites the Computer (Engine/Powertrain Control) as the affected component. This filing is one of 21 Nissan notifications from 2023 in this archive. For scale, 91 of the 4,890 filings in this archive report a larger number of affected vehicles; the vehicles involved here were manufactured over a span of about 5 years and 7 months.
Defect
In e-POWER and electric vehicles, insufficient evaluation of the motor output control software during development introduced a programming error in the Vehicle Control Module. If a specific driver input is made immediately after ending cruise control operation—including Intelligent Cruise Control and ProPilot—unintended acceleration may occur.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, reprogram the Vehicle Control Module with corrected software.
