Defect
In the automatic transmission, an incorrect assembly fixture was used when installing the oil seal on the manual shift lever shaft, causing the seal lip to fold over on some units. This allows oil to leak from the affected area and, in the worst case, may render the vehicle inoperable.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, inspect the automatic transmission oil seal for lip fold-over and oil leakage. If either condition is found, replace the automatic transmission with a conforming unit.

状況
