Defect

On manual transmission vehicles, the engine control unit uses an inadequate current control strategy for the ignition coil. When the engine stalls due to a clutch operation, excessive current may flow through the ignition coil. In the worst case, the ignition coil fuse may blow, preventing the engine from starting.

Corrective action

On all vehicles, reprogram the engine control unit with the corrected software, and replace the ignition coil fuse, relay box cover, and owner's manual with corrected parts.

状況

マニュアルトランスミッション車両のエンジン制御用コントローラにおいて、イグニッションコイルの通電制御が不適切であったため、クラッチ操作によりエンストした際、イグニッションコイルに過電流が流れることがある。そのため最悪の場合、イグニッションコイルヒューズが溶断しエンジンが始動できなくなるおそれがある。

改善措置

全車両、エンジン制御用コントローラの制御プログラムを対策ソフトウェアに書き換え、イグニッションコイルヒューズ、リレーボックスカバー、オーナーズマニュアルを対策品と交換する。
