Defect

Improper heat treatment during the manufacturing process reduced the strength of the steering knuckle. Under high load, the knuckle may deform, causing wheel misalignment. Continued use in this condition may, in the worst case, cause the steering knuckle to fracture, rendering the vehicle inoperable.

Corrective action

On all vehicles, replace the steering knuckle with a conforming unit.

状況

ステアリングナックルにおいて、製造工程の熱処理が不適切であったため、強度が低下しているものがあり、大きな力がかかった場合に変形してホイールアライメントに狂いが生じるおそれがある。また、そのままの状態で使用を継続すると、最悪の場合、ステアリングナックルが破断して走行不能となるおそれがある。

改善措置

全車両、当該ステアリングナックルを良品と交換する。
