Defect
The fastening bolts on the power steering valve mounting bracket are insufficiently torqued. Vibration during driving causes these bolts to loosen. Continued use results in inadequate spline engagement between the steering column and the power steering valve and, in the worst case, complete loss of steering control.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the fastening bolts with corrected parts (spring washer type), apply thread-locking compound, and torque to the revised specification.

状況
パワーステアリングバルブ取付ブラケットの締結ボルトの締付力が不足しているため、走行時の振動等により当該ボルトが緩むものがある。そのため、そのまま使用を続けるとステアリングコラムとパワーステアリングバルブのスプライン部の嵌合が不十分となり、最悪の場合、操舵できなくなるおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、締結ボルトを対策品(バネ座金付タイプ)に交換し、ネジロック材を塗布して、変更した締付トルクで締め付ける。
