Defect
In the steering system intermediate shaft, the pinion shaft has not been inserted to sufficient depth, leaving it without a secure connection. As a result, the pinion shaft gradually works its way out and, in the worst case, may cause a complete loss of steering control.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, inspect the pinion shaft insertion depth. If insertion depth is insufficient, properly re-insert and assemble the shaft.

状況
かじ取装置の中間シャフトにおいて、ピニオンシャフトの挿入が不十分なため、確実に締結されていないものがある。そのため、ピニオンシャフトが徐々に抜け出して、最悪の場合、ハンドル操作ができなくなるおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、当該ピニオンシャフトの挿入代を点検し、挿入代が不十分な場合は、適切に挿入して組み付ける。
