Defect

On heavy-duty trucks equipped with a urea selective catalytic reduction (urea SCR) system, improper machining of the guide sleeve inside the urea solution pump allows pump operating pressure to initiate a crack at the tip of the sleeve. The sleeve tip may then fracture, impairing urea solution pump function. As a result, a warning lamp illuminates and nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions may exceed the regulatory limit.

Corrective action

On all vehicles, replace the urea solution pump with a corrected part.

状況

 大型トラックの尿素選択還元型触媒システム(尿素SCRシステム)において、尿素水ポンプ内ガイドスリーブの加工が不適切なため、ポンプ作動時の圧力によって当該スリーブ先端部に亀裂が発生することがある。そのため、当該スリーブ先端部が破断し尿素水ポンプの機能が損なわれ、警告灯が点灯するとともに排出ガス中の窒素酸化物(NOx)の排出値が基準値を超えるおそれがある。

改善措置

 全車両、尿素水ポンプを対策品に交換する。
