Defect
In the brake booster pump of the electronically controlled hydraulic brake system, the mold used to form the resin brush holder — a component of the pump motor — is incorrect, leaving insufficient clearance between the holder and the brush. When the pump operates, the holder thermally expands and catches the brush, causing a continuity fault in the pump motor. As a result, the pump motor fails to operate and a warning lamp illuminates. In the worst case, brake boost assist is lost and stopping distance is extended.
Corrective action
Inspect the brake booster pump on all vehicles and replace any affected unit with a conforming part.

状況
電子制御式油圧ブレーキのブレーキブースタポンプにおいて、ポンプモータの構成部品である樹脂製ブラシホルダの成形型が不適切なため、ブラシとの隙間が小さく、ポンプ作動時に当該ホルダが熱膨張してブラシが当該ホルダに引っ掛かり、ポンプモータが導通不良となるものがある。そのため、ポンプモータが作動せず警告灯が点灯し、最悪の場合、倍力作用が損なわれて制動停止距離が伸びるおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、ブレーキブースタポンプを点検し、該当するものは良品と交換する。
